Seavets Committee for 2022

As you know the committee is looking for new members to keep Seavets going. The challenges of the last two years have shown several things:

1. There is a core group of active sailors who would like Seavets activities to continue for as long as possible.

2. The work of the committee has reduced partly through less things to organise and partly by doing things a bit differently – for example use of Zoom for committee meetings, holding races just at Farmoor.

3. There are other windsurfers out there who are attracted to the range of Seavets activities, so although numbers have dropped we now have a good base to continue from and are getting interest from potential new members.

There are only four committee members left who have covered the work over the last two years, and all have been committee members for many years. We desperately need some fresh blood – a committee of at least six is desirable. We are happy to carry on and believe most current Seavets want Seavets to carry on. Please think about joining the committee.

The level of commitment is not great – typically four meetings a year plus the AGM. Travel to meetings is no longer essential as the use of Zoom has shown. So come on, give it a go. Ring me on 07747 013948 or email on steveisafletcher@gmail.com if you are interested.
